Tepilo Review

Tepilo are online real estate agents focused on redesigning the process of selling property around the customer. They intend to achieve this by offering a user-friendly website that lets clients track their property sale easily, and by providing a reliable phone support, which is available all day and all week.

They have automated many administrative elements of their business, and have removed the need for costly offices on the High Street. These moves, and others, are part of their efforts to reduce costs wherever possible and, as a result, provide clients with the best possible prices while helping them sell their houses quickly.

With their team of experienced sales progressors, negotiators, and valuers, Tepilo does what it can to provide quality service with a good combination of computers and human expertise. Every one of their clients is given their own dedicated sales progressor and negotiator who will work with him or her from when the property is listed to the point at which the sale is completed.

What type of estate agency is Tepilo?

Tepilo is an online estate agency built to offer the same services as traditional real estate agency would, but exclusively online. Their model makes it easy to cut overhead costs as much as possible, resulting in better prices for their clients.

They leverage on the fact that most property searches now start online. They offer clients lower priced listings on the major portals, including Rightmove and Zoopla, ensuring exposure to thousands of buyers. Their business model has made it possible for them to provide a service that is both fast and easy to use.

While Tepilo are fully online estate agents, they offer physical services to clients when necessary. For example, they would normally require homeowners to perform their own house viewings, since buyers often prefer that, but they are available to do viewings on behalf of the homeowner should there be a need to do so.

Online estate agents like Tepilo charge a flat fee with no upfront payment, unlike the hefty commissions charged by traditional High Street agencies. They let you manage your offers, viewings, and property listing from an online dashboard, no matter where you are.

What’s the background of Tepilo?

Tepilo was founded by Channel 4 TV presenter, Sarah Beeny, and digital production studio, Codegent. The online estate agency was created in 2009 as a no-cost For Sale By Owner (FSBO) service. It was not until October 2013, when it was relaunched, that Tepilo became an online estate agent.

Are Tepilo Reviews good?

On Trust Pilot, Tepilo has an average score of 9.0 out of 10 from 1,210 reviews. Their more recent reviews were impressive, with many indicating that the service was easy to use. A good number of the reviews pointed to customer satisfaction with how the staff handled their property sale, and others were glad to have saved a great deal of money.

With 125 reviews on allAgents.co.uk, Tepilo scores 4.27 out of 5 points. Many of the latest reviews are bad, and many reviewers were dissatisfied with their poor customer service and lack of involvement in the process of selling or buying a home. Others thought their staff to be polite and friendly, but the service incomparable to a local estate agent. Many also had a problem with their valuations, as they claimed their properties had been overvalued.

While there are some bad reviews and some mixed ones, there are considerably more positive reviews for Tepilo on the allAgents website. Some reviewers praised the service for being as much as 6 times cheaper than an estate agent, while helping them to complete a sale within a reasonable period of time. Some reviewers reported selling their houses in as little as 24 hours, with the Tepilo team providing great help every step of the way.

While the reviews are indeed mixed, we can say Tepilo has good ratings overall and we would recommend them to anyone looking to sell their property.

How much does Tepilo charge for selling my home?

Tepilo don’t charge a commission based on the value of your house like conventional estate agents do. Instead they charge a flat-rate for different packages, and what you end up paying for is determined by you and your needs. There are no hidden charges, since all their prices include VAT. The Premium package is priced at £1,295 and is tagged the Sarah Beeny Accelerator package: a customer’s best bet for maximising their property’s exposure.

For landlords who want to list their properties to find renters, Tepilo provides a free listing service, which allows anyone to list their property at no cost. They have a £180 package called Tenant Find Service, which includes listings on Zoopla and Rightmove, as well as free listings on the Tepilo site.
